Eastern Oklahoma Wellness & Chiropractic Center is a Tulsa clinic, not a clinic that serves Tulsa from somewhere else. We are at 8165 S. Mingo Road, Suite 200, on the south east side of the city near the 81st Street intersection, a few minutes from both the Creek Turnpike and Highway 169.

Tulsa is the county seat of Tulsa County and the second largest city in Oklahoma, sitting on the Arkansas River at the edge of the Ozark foothills. The city grew on oil money in the early twentieth century, which is why downtown holds one of the most substantial collections of Art Deco architecture in the country, and Route 66 still runs through on Eleventh Street.

The pattern here is shaped by how people work and travel. Tulsa is a driving city with a large office and professional sector, and the two most common presentations we see reflect that directly: low back pain in people who sit for most of a working day, and neck and shoulder pain from screens and commuting. South Tulsa in particular is full of long car journeys along the Creek Turnpike and Memorial, and time in a car seat is time in a fixed position with the lumbar spine unsupported.

Getting to us

From midtown and Brookside, take 71st or 81st east. From downtown, Highway 169 south to 81st is usually the fastest route. From the east side of the city, the Creek Turnpike brings you within a couple of minutes of the door. There is parking at the building.

What we treat

Most patients come to us for low back pain, neck pain, sciatica, headaches that start in the neck or an injury from a collision. Treatment usually combines adjustments with massage therapy, and where a disc is involved, spinal decompression.

We treat every generation, including infants, children and expecting mothers, using techniques suited to the patient rather than a scaled down adult adjustment.

Why patients travel to us

The reason most often given is time. The comment that appears in our reviews is about not being rushed, and that is deliberate rather than incidental: a ten minute visit is enough to move a joint and not enough to work out why it keeps going wrong. What a first visit involves

The first appointment is a history and an examination rather than a treatment you were signed up for before you arrived. We ask what hurts, when it started, what makes it worse and what your work physically demands, then test range of motion and check the spine segment by segment. You get the findings explained in plain language, and then a plan with a rough number of visits and a description of what should change.

Sometimes the answer is that chiropractic is not the right treatment. If the examination points to something needing imaging, medication or a specialist, we say so and refer rather than starting a course of care that will not help.

We bill insurance, and what your particular plan covers varies a great deal, so call with your card before the first visit and we will help you check.
